Frequently Asked Questions

Will I be treated on the first visit?

Usually yes. Your first visit includes a full history, a physical examination, and — if nothing needs further investigation first — treatment the same day, with a clear explanation of what we found and your personalized plan going forward.

Do I need X-rays before coming?

No — and we don't X-ray everyone as a policy. Imaging is only useful when the examination suggests it would change your treatment. If you already have X-ray, MRI or CT results, bring them; your doctor will review them as part of the assessment.

Is the popping sound during an adjustment bad for you?

No. The pop is gas releasing in the joint's lubricating fluid as pressure changes — not bones grinding — and research hasn't linked joint cavitation to arthritis. The sound also isn't required for an adjustment to work; several techniques we use are silent.

Chiropractor or physiotherapist — which do I need?

There's real overlap. Broadly, chiropractors specialize in hands-on diagnosis and treatment of joint restriction — especially the spine — combined with soft-tissue work and exercise; physiotherapy centers on exercise-led rehabilitation. Many of our patients use both. Come in and if your problem belongs with a physio or physician, we'll say so and refer you.
